Hey folks, been a very long time since I’ve posted something, been a combination of actual paying jobs as well as other commitments which have prevented me from being able to do any fan art in recent months, but hopefully things will start to change. Some may remember a while back I did a series called ‘If Women Ruled the Earth’ for The Dark Knight featuring the Dark Dame, Jokeress, and Haley Two-Face, well now I’m doing one for the Avengers. First up Iron Maiden, the casting choice is Sandra Bullock as she’s the closest I could think of to a female Robert Downey Jr in terms of age and personality. More of these to come. 🙂

You know there actually is female Iron Man. In the comics Pepper became Rescue, armored superhero like Tony. Could you please photoshop Gwyneth Paltrow with her armor?
If you want you can replace Sandra’s head for Gwenyth’s yourself if you have the tools to do so.
These are really very good. Not being artistically inclined, myself, I don’t know how you managed to mix actresses and fanart. I’m tempted to ask you for an extended list of commissions. I’ve always wondered how Robyn Fenty would look as punk Storm and I think Jennifer Lawrence would make a pretty great Rogue.
I usually don’t do requests due to the fact I can’t promise I can deliver what people ask for, mostly it comes down to being unable to find the right imagery to suit what it is the person wants, so I tend not to take request. However I will keep the casting choices in mind you propose in case I ever tackle those characters in the future.

Who would you have picked?
WHY “Iron Maiden”? Why is she “maiden” and not “woman”? What’s wrong with “Iron Woman”. Seriously. Also: Boobs on an armor? Are you joking? WHY are there boobs on the armor? There’s NO practical reason for there to be boobs on an armor!
Then again, WHY “Miss America”? Why isn’t she “Captain America” just because she’s a woman? Women can be Captains, why make her sound like a beauty pageant contestant?
Furthermore, having a Bare midriff is STUPID. Do you know that we have several vital organs in the stomach? Also, it reinforces the sexist ideas that women have to be sexy and “show off”. Yes, that picture is a lot more tasteful than some out there, but that doesn’t somehow absolve it of being sexist.
Same goes for “Thora” not wearing any pants (again: WHY. Why leave so much bare skin? What’s the point except to pander to the male gaze?).
I mean, I stumbled upon this pictures on tumblr, through a blog on which someone had done some quick edits to your edits, giving Thora pants and covering up Captain America’s stomach. Just saying.
How about next time I just stick the actresses head on the male costume, will that make people happy?
I think part of the problem is that the only references Josh has for female heroes are the sexualized ones we have today. You can see he’s tried hard to be conservative. No cleavage, which is kind of a first with this kind of thing. Why are you guys being so hard on him? It’s not perfect, but it’s not like this is his job.
Even if I was to cover every portion of skin people would still complain about the girls being too sexualized, the boobs would be to big, or she’d be standing too seductively or those pants are too tight, or something else. I don’t know what the answer is to be honest, I can’t win either way, all I know is my Avenger girls are nowhere near as sexualized as is being made out and quite frankly I think some are just arguing for the sake of it. God forbid the reaction when I eventually finish Lady Hulk, what’s going to be the complaints then? Showing too much skin? News flash, Hulk only wears ripped pants.
oh my god i’m dying, please just annoy the ~extreme social justice~ comments. (Randomizer etc) the costumes aren’t sexualized, they’re perfect. they’re sexy BECAUSE they aren’t overly/purposely sexualized. also, with the whole Thora not wearing pants & Miss America’s name change, theoretically, maybe Thora would prefer not to wear pants? Maybe Miss America prefer’s Miss over Captain? Sure, pants would be provide more protection, but raging because a woman’s wearing a skirt & not pants is stupid. (plus, Thora is a GODDESS, like she needs pants.) & Pepper Potts’ armor in the Iron Man comic has boobs as well. There’s nothing wrong with a visible stomach or legs or BOOBS. Jesus, this is (great) art, so treat it as such. ps, if you considered Rooney Mara for Lady Loki, i would fucking d i e
I do have an actress in mind for Lady Loki, but I’ll see how it looks with Rooney as well.
The thought of Thora not wearing pants made me think of a new project. Thor not wear pants and other avenger sexual dysfunctions. Maybe Captain America is a furry and Iron Man is into the auto-erotica thing.
armor looks good, but you don’t seem to know where breast go.
People need to chill. There are boobs in the armor because if there wasn’t her boobs would be pretty squished and guess what? that would hurt. CHILL OUT.
the armor is way too small. how could she even fit in it? The only way this would work is if it were a skintight catsuit.
@Emma Smith: Have you actually seen the Iron Man movie? Almost all those suits are unrealistically tight. Which is perfect, actually – they’re comic books come to life! It’s basically fancy spandex!
Could you make a version of this with the mark 42 armour? With the same actress? That would be awesome……
It’s a lot of work and I don’t really feel like doing another Iron Man one, this one was tough to create in the first place.
If women ruled the earth, there wouldn’t be an iron “maiden” or all the technology, we would still be in teh fucking stone age.
