Character Design – Wonder Woman Damaged Suit

Someone pointed out to me that I haven’t done a front shot of my Wonder woman costume design, so here it is, all be it in a slight damaged form.

Why the damage? Other than going for a real bad ass look this pays a little more tribute to the classic Wonder Woman costume look, kinda like what happened to Two-Face’s suit in The Dark Knight. This images was huge and thus took a long time to complete. Stock images courtesy of Marcus J Ranum stock. Feel free to use in your own fan art.

    Wow..😮😀 That is really badass

  2. Cairyn says:

Looks great! I think it’d look even better if she was a little dirty, especially below the knees.

  3. joshmc says:

Didn’t even think about dirt, I’ll make a note of that next time. Thanks.

  4. Ellington says:

Wow that is stellar! Nicely done! : )

  5. sheldon says:

joshmc i notice on Wonder Woman boots the left boots one of the buttons is a different colour

  7. batboy99 says:

nice jmc! what pic did you use of cobie?

  8. joshmc says:

    ^ About three different ones.

  9. minerva says:

Wow. This is great! I really love how you realize she’d be wearing something more like actual armour if she was an Amazon (not that silly near-underwear that was no defensive capabilities).
Love the subtle inclusion of the stars on blue, a classy shout to the orig. without its weaknesses.

  10. Eluria says:

    Very nice result!

    Thanks for creating this.

  11. Ethan Carter says:

I think who ever you are that designed this – you are a total legend. Love the interpretation. Love the traditional Greco-warrior theme and the emblems of Athena’s owl, Artemis’ deer – images that herald her patrons and of course staying true to the Wonder Woman we know. Would like the tiara to be more emphasised also as a weapon – overall the concept is hot hot hot

  12. Crusader K says:

ABSOLUTELY LOVING your designs. Why the hell the studios can’t do something this cool….!

My only real request – need more magic lasso. That looks like a shoestring tied at her waist. Other than that – absolutely cool!

  13. Darren Albert says:

I’d love to see you photoshop your Wonder Woman suit onto an image of Bridget Regan. I reckon that’d go viral.

  14. irwan says:

Josh, man…. lemme tell ya…i can already see this costume being adapted in a possible WW movie or a JLA movie, whichever comes first.

    Great job, dude. thank’s.

now, can i see you use either Megan Gale or Olga Kurylenko wearing it, cuz those are MY top choices for the role.

  15. irwan says:

lemme add on that what i am impressed the most with is your treatment of the stars on the Greek (skirt ?)

your design has completely neutralized any “americana” sense bout WW comicbook costume, which is GOOD.

NOW, i think she’s truly an Amazon warrior and NOT an American-Amazon beach bimbo.

  16. BIGJ says:

Let me say this. The only thing I do not like about the costume is the Boots. I refer close toed boots. Other than that, I love it.

  17. Matthew says:

Definitely like but would love to see a helmet to cover her face so she wouldn’t be recognized as Diana Prince or Donna Troy. This whole comic book idea that people can’t figure out that Clark Kent is Superman or D is WW is really silly. I’d like to see a more realistic approach.

  18. Miss Rav says:

Great throwback to the original without those unflattering primary colors. Those are by far the best Wonder Woman shorts yet. Flattering and sexy without being overstated and trampy.

I love everything about it except the boots. The open toe is just not practical. After kicking around bad guys, the last thing you want to do is pick grime from under your toenails. YUCK! Plus the open toe makes it look more like a leg cast.

    Fabulous job!

  19. Colton says:

    Could you do the Flash?

  20. josh says:

I’ve always wanted to do flash but have yet to find a design I’m happy with. But never say never!
